Widowed Maude Sage Breen (Cheryl Ladd) heads back to her childhood home in Kentucky to start up a horse farm. Her wicked neighbor Lowell Shipleigh (Wayne Rogers) seeks to teach her a lesson and bring about her ultimate downfall, while her faithful farm manager Dancy (Brian Kerwin) won't let Shipleigh stand in the way of Maude's dream. Shipleigh uses the dashing Irishman Michael Fitzgerald (Anthony Andrews) as bait in a sinister trap.
Diane Ladd and Mickey Rooney give outstanding performances, as does the whole cast.
